Activities - Prior Grange is more than an overnight stop.

There is more to Prior Grange than just accommodation. A sandstone swimming pool, birding walks around the garden and into the veld, quiet gravel roads for cycling and a clay tennis court – Prior Grange has it all waiting to be explored.

Swimming

Tucked away in a shaded corner of the garden is a sandstone swimming pool. Very refreshing after a hot trip through the Karoo.

Birding

Blue Koran, Red Throated Wryneck, Gabar Goshawks, African Harrier Hawk, Orange River White eye, squacco heron… to name but a few of the over hundred and twenty species to be spotted.

Cycling

With a variety of gravel roads guests can enjoy the Karoo visits on their bicycles.

Tennis Court

Adjoining the Garden Cottage is a traditional clay tennis court built in the late 1960s. The court was rebuilt in 2023. Quite quaint and functional.

Walks

Nothing better after being on a long journey to stretch one’s legs and enjoy some real fresh air. Prior Grange is a “Free range” farm where you can enjoy the birding and springbuck walks.
